Beginning at age 4, Finn grew up studying and competing in classical and contemporary violin and voice. As a teen, they were part of Nanaimo based fiddle group Fiddelium, and started developing skills to arrange multiple instruments for songs and tunes within the folk genre with the support of Trish and Geoff Horrocks. During this time, Finn also studied classical voice and folk singing for 11 years under the tutelage of renowned teacher Sharon Wishart. Immediately after high school graduation, Finn attended the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria from 2016-2018. Their education included performance, vocal ensemble, private voice, theatre, and dance. They began teaching group and private lessons at age 12.

Between full-time touring with their multiple projects, Finn runs a fiddle teaching practice and teaches workshops on traditional Irish fiddling, fiddle accompaniment for folk songs, and folk singing. Finn’s trauma informed approach to teaching aims to encourage folks to reconnect with their cultural roots through folk music. They help people unpack their relationship to music and push through insecurities to discover their unique sound and style of fiddling or singing. Finn loves working with adult students, and as a queer and nonbinary person they welcome fellow LGBTQ2IA+ people to their practice.
