Voice<\/summary>\n

Beginner or intermediate lessons available.
Finn studied and competed in classical voice and folk singing for 11 years under the tutelage of renowned teacher Sharon Wishart. Later, during their time at the Canadian College of Performing Arts , they studied ensemble singing and Musical Theatre private voice with Sara Partridge.

Finn is offering lessons on folk singing. Students can expect to explore a variety of repertoire and learn exercises to strengthen their vocal technique. Finn can also teach students how to play violin and sing at the same time, and how to write and sing vocal harmonies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon request Finn can also incorporate improvising, composing string parts for songs, playing and singing at the same time, accompanying as a melody player, and working through your relationship with music into your lessons, or even do a few focused lessons on one of these topics.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Beginning at age 4, Finn grew up studying and competing in classical and contemporary violin and voice. As a teen, they were part of Nanaimo based fiddle group Fiddelium, and started developing skills to arrange multiple instruments for songs and tunes within the folk genre with the support of Trish and Geoff Horrocks. During this time, Finn also studied classical voice and folk singing for 11 years under the tutelage of renowned teacher Sharon Wishart. Immediately after high school graduation, Finn attended the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria from 2016-2018. Their education included performance, vocal ensemble, private voice, theatre, and dance. They began teaching group and private lessons at age 12.

Between full-time touring with their multiple projects, Finn runs a fiddle teaching practice and teaches workshops on traditional Irish fiddling, fiddle accompaniment for folk songs, and folk singing. Finn\u2019s trauma informed approach to teaching aims to encourage folks to reconnect with their cultural roots through folk music. They help people unpack their relationship to music and push through insecurities to discover their unique sound and style of fiddling or singing. Finn loves working with adult students, and as a queer and nonbinary person they welcome fellow LGBTQ2IA+ people to their practice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
