Finn Letourneau (they/them) is a professional fiddler, singer, banjo player and music teacher. They live on the territories of the Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱SÁNEĆ people, colonially known as Victoria, BC. Finn performs frequently with their band Clanna Morna and under the moniker ‘Finley Rose’ – the title of their solo project. They bring new life to traditional folk music spanning many different regions – from Appalachian mountain songs to melodic Irish tunes.

Finley grew up among the arbutus trees of Nanoose Bay, echoing their song. Finn’s songwriting draws on the darkness and light of human experience; a soaring vocal line over a resonant violin phrase, a heartfelt song – intricate and intimate. Their music is a rumination on the uncomfortable and sometimes jarring nature of our reality.

Finn studied classical voice and violin from ages 4 to 16 and continued their studies at the Canadian College of Performing Arts. Their strong technical background shows in their articulate playing and dynamic songwriting. You may see them performing anything from traditional folk music with fiddle and banjo at a market, to layered string arrangements with synths and loop pedal at a concert or in their work with Noble Riot Dance Theatre.
